Why This Exhibit?

The  cancelation of so many stamp shows during the past year has been a frustration to many collectors, particularly those who choose to exhibit. In an effort to maintain interest and satisfy collectors’ needs, many shows have chosen to sponsor virtual exhibits. These virtual exhibits were simply digitized versions of traditional exhibit pages. This exhibits seeks to use the versatility of the computer for an exhibiting experience that can not be duplicated on a show floor.

How to View the Exhibit.

Navigation around the exhibit is just like any web site. In traditional terms, this would be considered a one frame exhibit. The menu is self explanatory. To see what would normally be shown on the exhibit floor, “EXHIBIT” is where that would be found. Other areas provide a more in-depth study of the subject if the viewer is so inclined. This additional information is available through the menu and hot links throughout the site. It is not the objective here to present a gold medal exhibit, rather the purpose is to demonstrate some of the digital capability we have as we look towards the future of exhibiting.

How the Exhibit was Done.

This exhibit was developed using the WordPress platform. There is a learning curve and a cost to use the platform and register the domain name. This effort was done with the basic WordPress package. There are many other features that can be implemented for efforts like this, but require a subscription upgrade. Zoom magnification is an example. This is an elementary, primitive effort that barely scratches the surface of a whole new world.
